This month’s Employee Spotlight features one of our mobile team’s West Region Market Managers, Edward D.! A BDSer since 2016, he ensures that things are always on brand for his client in stores, makes sure phone displays are looking their best, and trains associates on the latest products. He also works with our corporate team to pilot and test innovative solutions in his region. Read on to learn more about Edward, his favorite hobbies, greatest accomplishment, and what he sees trending in the mobile industry. 

Q: Tell me about your day to day?   

A: My daily activities include visiting 6-8 stores, completing my audit and training, and schedule ride-along meetings with carrier managers. This is beneficial to my job because they are key players in helping me organize contests to boost sales around the brand. 

Q: In three words, how would you describe yourself?   

A: Outgoing, creative, strong-minded.  

Q: In three words, how would you describe your career?   

A: Fascinating, successful, progressive.  

Q: What do you think retail will look like in 5 years?   

A:  I believe online shopping will continue to grow, but there will always be a space for retail stores. Many people like the in-person interaction and still prefer to try the product out before they purchase. 

Q: What are some trends that you’re seeing right now in the industry?   

A: The cell phone industry continues to push for an all-in-one device. We’ve seen cameras added to the back and front of phones, GPS, email and internet. Now we have wonderful things like health benefits built into our device and the ability to make purchases through our phones.  

Q: What is your favorite food?   

A: I LOVE ramen and sushi!   

Q: Do you have any hobbies? Things you like to do on your free time?   

A: I like playing pool, watching sports games, and playing poker with my buddies. I enjoy nature, so a good visit to the park and beach is always a good time! 

Q: What has been your greatest accomplishment?   

A: My greatest accomplishment to date has been moving to New York at 21 years old with no friends or family. It really taught me a lot and I matured quicker, shaping me into the person I am today. 

Q: What is your favorite sport? Do you have a favorite team? 

A: My favorite sports are basketball and football and my teams are Lakers and Raiders, of course!
