Here at BDSmktg, we constantly apply our values of Authenticity, Agility, and Achievement in the way we work on a daily basis, and we have employees who truly know what it means to live and breathe by those values. On December 15th during our annual corporate Christmas party, we acknowledged six talented BDSers who embody those core values in their work day to day. We wanted to take this opportunity to recognize and congratulate all the award winners for all of their hard work, effort, and dedication to making 2017 one of BDS’ best years yet.
Field Employee of the Year – Dedicated Team
Julie R., Senior Results Manager
A dedicated employee for almost eight years, Julie sets the bar high and leads by example for all BDS team members who have worked for her or with her. Her strong work ethic, caring spirit, and overall belief in our people helped propel her and her team forward to achieve amazing things in 2017, including the expansion of her account to more than double between the first and second half of the year to yield a team that’s over 140 members strong. Clients who work with Julie have commended her phenomenal leadership, her make-it-happen attitude, reliability, and analytical skills. Her dedication to her program, organization, and leadership have been invaluable to the overwhelming success of her team and her program. Congratulations, Julie!
Field Employee of the Year – Installation Team
Don S., Field Trainer
Don has been with BDS since 2014 as a Field Trainer and Dedicated Installer. Not only is he always going above and beyond to provide quality execution, but has also taken a leadership role in many test installations with our clients to be able to provide out-of-the-box solutions for their needs. Don is also an excellent communicator, is always upfront and well-prepared and has built great rapport not only with his clients, but with his peers as well. Congratulations to Don on his Employee of the Year award!
Field Employee of the Year – Merchandising Team
Patti B., Director of Field Operations
Patti has been with BDS for close to 20 years and in this time, she has achieved many great things. From playing a key role in the initial launch of our Break Fix Team back in 2013 to helping with the largest national roll-out of what is expected to be our biggest client this 2018, Patti’s leadership and drive for excellence has helped make all these possible. In 2017, she was promoted to Director of Field Operations and manages the execution of our Elite Team, on top of partnering and driving communication with the corporate team of some of our largest clients. She is a highly-respected leader in BDS and truly exemplifies what it means to drive excellence for our clients and our business, and we are truly grateful to have her on our team!
Corporate Employee of the Year
Lisa N., Senior Client Services Manager
A dedicated employee for five years, Lisa has been an essential part for the success of one of our largest retail clients. She has shown tremendous leadership, problem solving, and tenacity while working with client corporate teams and handling over 40 different partner brands. In 2017, she worked tirelessly to align different internal and external teams while having to “sell-in” her program to some of the most challenging clients in the industry, which often meant a dozen client meetings per day during the early stages of the program. On top of that, Lisa has also expanded her responsibilities by training and leading a new team of BDSers. She is well-liked and highly respected but everyone she works with and is no doubt a trusted advisor to our largest client. We can’t wait to see all the remarkable things Lisa will accomplish in 2018!
Larry Dorr Award
The Larry Dorr Award is awarded annually to an employee that demonstrates a remarkable ability to “get it done”.
John B., Client Service Director
John has been leading the efforts for what is expected to grow into our third largest client this 2018. A dedicated employee for almost six years, John has been instrumental in aligning a client who had multiple stakeholders who all believed they made the final decision. John has not only assumed the senior role of managing a large group of other merchandising clients, but also worked seamlessly through challenging situations in 2017, including: managing the pilot of a new 2.0 level display launch, taking on business development for his client, managing the transition to a highly complex new parts and billing system, and fighting off a barrage of competitor bids. John’s hardwork, tenacity, and problem solving not only is an inspiration to his team, but is also an inspiration to other BDSers. Congratulations to John for his Larry Dorr Award!
The Founders’ Award honors our founder, Mark Dean, by recognizing the individual who best embodies the spirit, values, and ethical standards that Mark started the company on.
Shelbie S., Client Service Manager
A dedicated employee for close to 14 years, Shelbie lives out our values of authenticity, agility, and achievement in her every day. She is not only a quick learner who immediately leverages her experience and knowledge to drive the company forward, but has made many valuable contributions to BDS in 2017. Earlier last year, Shelbie was promoted to Client Service Manager and quickly dove into her new responsibilities and made an immediate impact to the business. She joined client meetings, built budgets, and did so much more at a very high level while exuding the values that BDS is all about. Beyond her client work, Shelbie also took the time to complete additional training and be involved in numerous BDS activities and committees. We look forward to seeing Shelbie continue to grow and excel this 2018!
