This month’s Employee Spotlight features one of our Market Development Managers and loyal BDSer for over 4 years, Vesper E.! Vesper is current a Market Development Manager on our Moto program, where some of his main responsibilities include relationship building in stores, supporting sales, and providing the client with crucial information on the markets he covers. Read on to find out more about Vesper and his life at BDS!  

Q: What is your favorite part about working for BDS?   

A: BDS is a fast-paced environment, but at the same time provides excellent work/life balance. This flexibility is a big part of why I enjoy working for BDS. When it comes to our MDM position, upper management allows us to work our markets how we see fit, which is extremely important since no 2 markets are the same. This also means that if we have any ideas that can benefit the program, then management will make sure our voices are heard. 

Q: Do you have a hobby?  

A: I produce music in my spare time. I started when I was around 17 after I heard one of my sister’s friends play the piano by ear. It’s an expensive hobby, but it’s also a great way to express one’s self through music. 

Q: Where did you go on your last vacation and where do you want to go next? 

A: My fiancée and I recently went on a Southeast Asia trip to Vietnam, Bali, and Thailand.  Additionally, we planned our flights so that we’d have long layovers in Taiwan, Singapore, and South Korea, so we were also able to explore those countries as well.  While we have a long list of future destinations, we hope to go to Palawan, Maldives, or New Zealand soon. 

Q: If you’re a new addition to the crayon box, what color would you be and why? 

A: I would be a new color called “Awesome”. Why? Because I’m awesome! 

Q: Where did you grow up? 

A: I was born in the Philippines, but my family moved to Lathrop, CA when I was 3 years old. Actually, we moved there before it was even incorporated. With that said, I always tell people a little fun fact about how I will always be tied to Lathrop since my father had designed the city’s logo. 

Q: If money was no object, what would you do all day? 

A: We’d be living life, travelling the world while volunteering our time and skills to those in need at each destination. When you’re fortunate enough to disregard the importance of money, it’s important to help those who are unable to help themselves.
